Shimla Tour Packages - (Rail Tour)

Leave the heat and dust of the plains and travel up by a unique mountain railway to Shimla, Summer capital of the Btitish Raj. Shimla , the capital of Himachal Pradesh is a very gorgeous hill resort.  The fresh mountain air combines with the Victorian architecture to give the town a distinctly British atmosphere. Explore Kulu, the 'Valley of Gods', picturesque Manali and the spectacular Rhotang Pass.

Day 01 : Delhi to Shimla
Early morning depart by train on the 'Himalayan Queen' to Kalka (640 metres) where you will join the scenic mountain railway up to Shimla (2,073 metres). Arrive Shimla late in the afternoon. Upon arrival in Shimla, Travel Horizon India Representatives will greet and assist you and your family. Then, you will be escorted to the Hotel Oberoi Clarkes or East Bourne or Spring Fields. Spend rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 02 : Shimla
After a relaxed breakfast in the morning, explore the town which was the summer capital of the Raj from 1864 to 1947. Shimla is a very beautiful hill resort. Its beauty is beyond description. It is also place for adventure sports such as river rafting, rock climbing, camping & golfing etc. You can visit here beautiful churches, temples and shopping malls. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.   

Day 03 : Shimla to Kulu
After hearty breakfast in the morning, continue north to the fertile Kulu Valley noted for its colourful bazaar towns, beautiful wooden temples and superb mountain scenery. Stay at the Hotel River Bank Resorts at Katrain (near Manali).

Day 04 & 05 : KuluValley
At leisure to explore the area. Manali is an ideal base for walking, also visit Old Manali and, weather permitting, the Rohtang Pass at over 4,000 metres. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 06 : Kulu to Chail
After hearty breakfast in the morning, today drive to the peaceful hill station of Chail, 45 kms from Shimla. Stay overnight at the Chail Palace Hotel, the former summer residence of the Maharaja of Patiala.

Day 07 : Chail to Delhi
After hearty breakfast in the morning, return by car to Delhi-end of tour.
